Scientific Sci-fi

 Hey Bloggers,

This week was our first full week in lockdown since 2020, hopefully, it will be our last. This week has been awesome as the teachers have set us some really cool tasks, however, my favourite one was when we had to create a story that was out of this world (Literally!) We got to choose between four pictures to base our story off of what we saw. The picture I chose was of a man on the moon, so here is my story

Every step was pain, knowing that the oxygen was going to run out soon, all I could do is hold my breath, literally. I was so close, I could see the base only 60 metres to go. But then, the dreaded noise started, it meant I only had at the most 40 metres of oxygen, I wasn't going to make it back to the base. And because I was panicking my oxygen was running out faster, I only had 35 metres.
20 metres,
10 metres,
5 metres, I was still 20 metres to the base, I never imagined this would be how I die, sure I imagined aliens taking my oxygen away, or getting too close to the sun then blowing up. But I never thought I would just run out of oxygen, no tragic backstory,  just me simply running out of oxygen. At least I was doing the job I loved right? “Well, this is the end for me,” I thought to myself until I heard them calling my name, I looked up and 5 metres away was my colleague with a brand new oxygen tank, they walked over to me and undid my current oxygen tank, which made me panic for a second but once they had given me the new tank I was fine. We walk back to the base and I forget all my worries, I am safe now, or so I think…...

Did you like the story? What are you doing in lockdown?

The Ghost On The Wall

 Hey Bloggers,

Today is day 3 of lockdown and one of the tasks I did yesterday was creating a short ghost story and making a poster to promote the story. My story is called the ghost on the wall, it starts off really slow then becomes really dark towards the end. So, read on if you dare.........

From the day we moved into our new house on the hill, I could tell there was something spooky about it. From the way the trees seemed to speak to each other, to how I would wake up sometimes to the sound of screams, but it wasn’t until I meet him that I truly began to understand what was going on.

It was a dark winters day but my sister and I went outside to play, it was another one of “those days” as my mother liked to call them, however, we were sick of sitting inside day after day while the wind howled and the rain fell. We were taking turns pushing each other on the swing when I saw him, sitting on the wall at the edge of the garden,

“Who are you?’ I asked, “And what are you doing here? You do know this is private property, right?” I added.

“Names are not important,” he said mysteriously

“Well then, could you leave now? You’re scaring my sister” The truth is my sister didn’t even look fazed by this mystery boy, I was more scared myself.

“Ok, I’ll go now” and with that, he leapt off the wall towards us. I was confused but pulled my sister behind me in case he was one of those axe murderers I saw in films I watched. But when he started running towards us, he just disappeared like he was never there. Of course, I was totally freaked out so I grabbed my sister and sprinted back to the house.

That night I heard screaming and I think my sister heard it too, I rolled over to go back to sleep and that’s when I heard it, the tapping on my window. It all happened so quickly, but then my door started creaking open, I knew my mother and sister went back to sleep, so it couldn’t have been them. I grabbed the nearest weapon looking thing which turned out to be a candlestick, the tapping didn’t stop this whole time and when my door opened fully there he was again standing with a rope in his hands. I screamed as loud as I could, but somehow it got so muffled that it was nearly impossible to hear, it was just me and the mystery boy, I threw a book at him, the world seemed to move in slow motion, but as the book looked like it was going to hit him it went straight through him, and that’s when I realised that he wasn’t human at all he was a ………...GHOST!

Did you enjoy the story? Do you have any feedback?

Scarlet Witch Website

 Hey Bloggers,

I know I haven't posted in a while as I have been busy with production work. And I am so excited because we finally get to perform it next week. But during the time we weren't doing production we were working on our websites for literacy.

We started off by picking a superhero that interested us, then gathering information about them and putting it all into a website. I chose Wanda Maimoff AKA Scarlet Witch, she was a very interesting character to do, she had a deep dark backstory and was a fascinating character. We got marked on these my mark was a 5A which is the second-highest mark. Feel free to give me any feedback even though I can't use it I will use it next time.

Have you ever heard of Scarlet Witch before?

S.T.E.A.M.

 Hey Bloggers,

This Wednesday we did stuff to do with S.T.E.A.M. which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. Our task was to make anything that was capable to hold an egg and keep it safe when dropped from a 5-meter height. Our materials were:  3 sheets of A4 photocopy paper, A plastic bag, 1m of string, 1 sheet of A5 thin card, Sellotape, Scissors and Paper to sketch design on.

What would you have done for your design?

Precious Pixel Art

 Hey Bloggers,

This term we are doing the production of Aladdin, when we aren't working on our scenes, practising lines, songs and dances, we are working on tasks that have been set for us. Each task is to do with Aladdin, the first task I did was create pixel art of my favourite character, I couldn't choose so I just did Princess Jasmine instead. Currently, I am working on making a palace in Minecraft, I can't wait to show you when I am done.

Have you ever used pixel art? What do you think I could have done differently next time?

Night at the Disco

 Hey Bloggers,

As today is Wednesday we had Tech, followed by K.O.S (Keeping Ourselves Safe) Today we were shown a small comic, we had to interpret what it was about. The comic I choose was called Night at the Disco, it was about a girl who was having a fun time at the disco with her friend, but then her friend got dragged off by some girls that were mean to her because she had a lazy eye, they kept turning their backs to her. We then had to finish it off in a way we thought would be suitable. I choose to make her friend come back to her and turn her back to the mean girls.

What would you have made the ending? Do you think it was nice how the girls treated the other girl?

Te Tirriti O Waitangi - Maori Point of View

 Hey Bloggers,

Today we are working on a Voki that tells a story in the opinion of one of the Maori or British settlers about The Treaty of Waitangi, I chose the Maori Point of view because I think their side of the story could be captured more like a short story. We had to include how we saw any problems that occurred during and after the treaty was being signed.

Did you think my story captured the concept of being in a Maori person's shoes? What do you think I could improve on?
